The Alabama Forestry Association announced its endorsement of Twinkle Cavanaugh for President of the Alabama Public Service Commission.

“During her tenure with the Public Service Commission, Twinkle has been a true leader for our state,” said Chris Isaacson, President and CEO of the Alabama Forestry Association. “She believes in sound energy policy and is committed to conservative governance. AFA is a strong supporter of all Twinkle does to keep Alabama a great place to live and work.”

Cavanaugh was first elected to serve as President of the Public Service Commission in 2020 and received the most votes in Alabama history for a non-presidential candidate. “Cavanaugh has earned many accolades during her career, including the status of being one of the Yellowhammer State’s trailblazing women,” the organization stated.

Prior to being elected to the Public Service Commission, Cavanaugh served as the first female elected chair of the Alabama Republican Party. She is a graduate of Auburn University and is a small business owner. Cavanaugh is married with three children and two grandchildren.

“The Alabama Forestry Association and its members serve among our state’s largest and best providers of jobs and economic activity,” said Cavanaugh. “Their work helps communities across Alabama thrive, and their products make our lives better. I’m honored to receive this endorsement from my friends at AFA who represent an industry vital to Alabama’s success.”

Cavanaugh is seeking re-election to the Alabama Public Service Commission in the Primary Election on March 5, 2024.
